Case study: Limeade research and content strategy
Context
Limeade is a corporate wellness SaaS company that provides employers with a platform to reward employees for healthy habits. The platform serves users with custom challenges and hundreds of activities to participate in, earning rewards.
Problem
Limeade’s library of content had been produced ad hoc over several years without guidelines for consistency or research to prove the efficacy of the approach. This led to a cluttered database of underutilized content.
What I did
I was brought in as an independent Content Strategy consultant to clean up and improve Limeade’s in-app content. Working with a data scientist, I conducted research on the latest thinking on healthy habit change and presented Limeade with an approach to publishing content that would lead to lasting change. I then hired copywriters specializing in health and food writing, and delivered dozens of new or improved challenges optimized based on the principles of habit change.
Outcomes
Limeade’s refreshed content saw increased usage and became a sales tool, enabling them to pitch prospective clients on a scientifically validated approach to corporate wellness and habit change. With old and unused content archived, users were presented with a simplified user experience, which made onboarding and ongoing use easier. Limeade was subsequently acquired by WebMD Health Services.
